How to reachBelagavi

Belagavi sits in Karnataka's north-west, on the Maharashtra and Goa borders. The district has an airport, a railway junction and the NH-48 running through it.

The department sets out the three approaches below. Within the district, its 2024 list also records how far each place sits from its taluk town — about half the entries state a distance, and those appear on each destination's page.

  • By air

    Belagavi Airport (IXG) at Sambra is about 10–12 km from the city centre, with direct domestic flights on selected routes. Taxis, app cabs and autos wait at the terminal.

  • By rail

    Belagavi (BGM) is a major station on the South Western Railway, with trains to Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad among others. It sits close to the city centre.

  • By road

    National and state highways connect the district to Bengaluru, Pune, Goa and Hubballi. KSRTC and private buses run regularly, and taxis and self-drive hire are available.
