Kittur Fort

Kittur Fort is a renowned historical site associated with the rich heritage and brave Rani Chennamma. Desai ruler Allappa Gowda Sardesai constructed the fort between 1650 and 1681, and it served as the administrative centre of the region. In 1824, Rani Chennamma led a notable revolt against the British forces, one of the early rebellions against colonial rule.
