Gangambike was the place of union of Shivasharana Gangambike, wife of Jagajyoti Basaveshwara. The Government has developed a memorial to Gangambike on the bank of the Malaprabha River near M.K. Hubballi. The site has developed into a sacred place attracting thousands of devotees. A memorial situated in the middle of the Malaprabha River is accessible to pilgrims and tourists through a walkway, enabling them to enter the sanctum and have darshan.
