The Hooli–Panchalingeshwar Temple, known for its numerous temples, is about 9 km from Saundatti. An inscription dated 1181 refers to the place as Puli. In ancient times, about one thousand scholars are said to have lived here, specialising mainly in grammar and logic. The temple contains five Shiva Lingas and is known as Panchalingeshwar Temple. It is restored and maintained by the Archaeological Department.
