Post Office Museum- & The Iconic Postman Circle & Statue

The Belgaum Post Office was established in the year 1880 as a superintendent post with 27 sub-offices and 12 villages. The dedicated Post Office Museum element in Belagavi operates primarily as an interactive Philatelic Bureau & Exhibition zone housed inside the main Belagavi Head Post Office building, it is an integrated historical gallery curetted by the Karnataka Postal Circle to preserve the rich administrative and communication heritage of North Karnataka. Can See & Experience The Philatelic Bureau Exhibition: The core attraction is a massive collection of rare historical stamps, commemorative covers, and special postmarks on permanent display. It showcases specific stamps documenting regional milestones, including Mahatma Gandhi's historic 1924 Congress Session in Belagavi. The most striking geographic and cultural speciality of the Belagavi Iconic Postman Circle & Statue Right in front of Post office HO gates, officially named Postman Circle. In 2019, an 8-foot-tall bronze statue weighing 350 kg was installed here. Sculpted by local artist Vinayak Manohar Patil, it is one of the very few monuments in India dedicated exclusively to honoring the hard work and historical legacy of postal workers. Because of this landmark, the adjoining road was officially renamed as Postman Circle
